Did you check the recipe of my Eggless Fresh Blueberry Banana Bread??? Its super easy and a best gift to your loved ones this festive season. Today’s recipe is something I am amazed about. Very honestly, I hadn’t expected them to be this delicious. It not only looks appealing but tastes divine. The best part is you can munch them without worrying much about health and calories. I think its an amazing replacement of craving something spicy and crunchy which most of the times leads us having potato wafers or nachos. For me its hands down the best recipe I have made so far.
These Apple chips are crunchy, healthy and totally addictive. I promise one batch is not going to be enough at all. Well, at least I am baking them real soon. I mean the recipe calls for nothing, but just apples, cinnamon and sugar. Slice the apples, sprinkle some cinnamon sugar and you are sorted. It can’t get easier than this.
But there are a few tips and tricks which you need to follow while making these else you won’t be able to get crunchy and crispy chips. The main factor or challenge is to slice the apple really thin. If the apples are thick, it will turn mushy after a while. Slice them real thin.
You can use a slicer if you wish to…I just used a sharp knife.Be very careful with it. If you want you can take out the core, but I like the star or flower shape in the centre. i just deseeded the apples.
The slices should be thin, but some wont be perfect and that is completely fine. Just layer them on a baking tray without piling them up so that they cook well.
I love the combination of cinnamon and sugar, especially on apples, so i sprinkled a bit of it on the apples. By the way, I went a little overboard…but I am not guilty 😉 You can only use cinnamon if you are completely off sugar…but a lil sugar doesn’t harm. I mixed the two for a sweet and spicy flavor.
Another really important factor is to bake the apples on the lowest temperature so that they can cook really well and be more and more crispy. The only thing to worry about is the patience. It take about at least 1.5 hours to bake the apples perfectly. So its like you bake the apples on one side for about 40 to 45 mins and then on other side making sure that the temperature is low. Once its baked, leave the apples in the oven itself so that they cool down and get crispier.
These are small little things to keep in mind, but make a huge difference in the final baked stuff. I think its the most fun way to eat apples and also curb your crunchy cravings. The only thing I want to warn you about is to make sure you make a huge batch as they will be gone in seconds.
Lets get started with the recipes.
- 3 to 4 Apples
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line two large baking sheets with silicone baking mats. Set aside.
- Wash and thinly slice the apples . Spread the apple slices onto the baking tray making 1 single layer. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake for 40 mins , flip the apples over, and bake for another 40 mins at about 100 degrees or even less. Turn the oven off and keep the apples inside as the oven cools down for 1 hour.
