Hello Lovely Readers,
I know I promised you guys lots of savoury recipes this week, but me being me, couldn’t control over my sweet cravings and here is the next recipe. This recipe was a total surprise to me. It was just an experiment which turned out to be absolutely delicious and I just had to share it.
I was actually making my old & classic Apple Pie(Click here to view the recipe) but the end result turned out to be this. Once I was done with the apple pie filling or salsa, I thought how can I use it in a different way. I was yet to make my pie crust and honestly I felt a little lazy and didn’t want to go through the entire process.. so i wanted to try something new. These Cinnamon and Sugar chips go perfect with Apple pie Salsa and it is way better than an apple pie.
The recipe is really simple and can be ready in a ziffy. If you are craving something fancy, yet don’t want to spend much time in the kitchen then this recipe is totally for you. Also, apple and cinnamon is a total classic combination for me and I absolutely love the aroma of it.
These Cinnamon & Sugar chips may look difficult but its probably one of the easiest things i made. All you need to do is top tortillas with butter, sugar and cinnamon and bake them until they are crisp. Thats it. Its soo easy.
Lets get started with the recipe now.
- FOR THE SALSA:
- 2 to 3 Apples (Chopped)
- 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tbsp Corn Stratch
- FOR THE CHIPS
- 2 Ready Made Tortillas
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- In a non-stick pan, add apples and sugar, cook this for atleast 5 mins until the apples are caramelized in sugar. Then add the rest of the ingredients and cook for 5 more minutes. Your apple salsa is now ready and you can let it cool while your chips bake.
- For the sugar and cinnamon chips, butter the tortillas from both the sides, and sprinkle lots of sugar and cinnamon on top. Cut it in desired shape and bake it at 200 degree celcius in a preheated oven for 15 mins or until crisp and brown.
